My vendor doesn't provide batch IDs. Can I still use the free testing program?
No. Without a batch ID, a published test result cannot be tied to a specific production run, which makes it far less useful to the public. The free testing program exists to produce results that benefit everyone, so batch IDs are a requirement.
You have two options:
You can submit your sample with the "private" option or any paid add-on. Your results will not be published, but you will get a full report.
You can also ask your vendor to start providing batch IDs. Lot numbers and manufacturing dates are standard practice in any quality-conscious operation. A vendor that does not provide them is making it harder for you, and for everyone else, to verify what you're buying.
We offer vendors basic guidance on working with batch identifiers.
