I Received a Finnrick-Branded COA, How Come It Can't Be Verified?
Verification only works for published tests
The verification feature at finnrick.com/verify returns results only for tests that have been published on our site. If you enter a certificate ID and receive no match, one of two things is true: the certificate is not genuine, or the underlying test has not been published.
The test may be real but unpublished
Finnrick shares results with sample requesters even when we cannot publish them publicly. This happens when we are unable to verify the provenance of a sample with sufficient confidence, roughly a third of our completed tests fall into this category.
If a vendor is circulating a COA PDF from one of these unpublished tests, the document may be genuine, but the test deliberately does not appear in public verification. Unpublished tests are not part of a vendor's Finnrick Rating and are not intended for use as marketing materials.
How Finnrick results are meant to be shared
Finnrick COAs are not designed for PDF distribution. The correct way to share a Finnrick test result is by sharing the results page URL directly. That URL is accessible to anyone who has it, even for unpublished tests, and it is the only format we consider authoritative.
A PDF without a working, verifiable URL should be treated with caution.
What to do if you suspect a COA is not genuine
If the certificate ID on a PDF returns no result at finnrick.com/verify and the vendor cannot provide a working results URL, the document may be fabricated. We do not offer COA verification by email or phone.
